Q. So what exactly is a Jetski Safari?
A. A Jetski Safari is an experience in which you will receive a safety briefing and instruction from a Qualified Personal Watercraft Instructor before taking to the water on one of our 2015 Seadoo GTI Jetskis with no prior experience needed. Once on the water the Instructor will give you further guidance to get you comfortable with both driving the Jetski and your aqua surroundings. Once comfortable and feeling in control of the jetskis you will be led on a guided safari by an Instructor on a seperate lead Jetski, during which you will experience the performance of our watercraft both within Poole Harbour and out on the open sea along the stunning Jurassic Coastline.
Q. How long is a Jetski Safari?
A. Each Safari lasts approximately one hour on the water (eg, one hour behind the controls of the Jetski) so you will need to allow approximately 2 hours down the Marina with us in total, half an hour either side of your session to allow getting changed and watching safety video.
Q. Do I have to have a group of people to book a Safari?
A. No. Singles can book onto a safari and will just pay the one person on one jetski price.
Q. Do I need to be able to swim to book onto a Safari?
A.Yes, we require all customers (both drivers and passengers) wishing to take part on a safari to be able to swim and are comfortable in deep water. If you cannot swim you may wish to take part in a powerboat ride. Click here for further details on our Skippered Powerboat Rides.
Q. Do I need to speak fluent English to do a Jetski safari?
A. Yes, you will need to speak fluent English to undertake our Jetski Safari Experiences. This is purely down to safety and your ability to understand the Instructor and Instructions being given. If you or any of your group do not speak fluent English you maybe interested in our Powerboat Experience.
Q. Can I just hire a Jetski without an Instructor present?
A. No. All our Jetski activities require an instructor present on a separate Jetski for safety and insurance reasons.
Q. What are the group sizes?
A. Each Safari consists of one instructor on the lead rescue jetski and three other jetskis available for customers. Therefore groups can vary from 1 to 6 people (2 per jetski) maximum per instructor. For groups of 7 or more people please take a look at our Group Activity Options Page.
Q. Do I have to share my Jetski with someone or can I ride solo?
A. This is totally down to you, you can either take the option of riding solo on a jetski* or sharing with a friend, partner or family member. When there are two people per Jetski the instructor will give plenty of time for both people to experience the thrill of both driving and being a passenger by swapping you around during the experience..
*To ride solo on a jetski you must be 18 years or older
Q. What is the minimum age for someone to attend a Jetski Safari?
A. To drive the Jetski solo you must be 18 years or older. Anyone aged 14 – 17 is able to drive the jetskis on safari but must be accompanied by someone over the age of 18 on the same jetskis. 10 – 13 year olds are able to come on the safari as a passenger and a reduced rate is charged for this. Prices can be seen by clicking here.
Q. How weather dependent are the safaris?
A. We can run safaris in most conditions and don’t worry too much if the sun isn’t shining as we guarantee you will soon forget about that when you start driving our jetskis. The only factor that may cause us to postpone the safaris are high winds which can create a dangerous sea state. If we have to postpone your safari we simply rearrange it for another suitable date.
Q. How do I book?
A.To book a safari please visit our contact us page for further details. You simply need to contact us to check availability for the dates you are interested in and then we take a £40 non refundable deposit to secure your booking which can be paid over the phone using a credit/debit card. The remaining balance is then payable on the day of your experience.
Q. What do I need to wear?
A. As your safety is our primary concern we provide you with full safety equipment including a buoyancy aid, helmet and wetsuit. All you need to bring is some swimwear for underneath your wetsuit, a towel and some shoes to wear when walking between the changing rooms and Jetskis.
Q. What time do the Safaris run?
A. Safaris run at various times during the day seven days a week. Evening sessions are also available for those wanting to get out on the water after work.
